Quickesign for AI assistants
Design your digital signs and run your screens by asking your AI assistant. The Quickesign connector works directly on your own Quickesign account.
What it does
- Design signs from a description. Menu boards, price lists, promotions, welcome and waiting room screens, horizontal or vertical, with text, pictures, video, clocks, weather, RSS feeds and quotes.
- Change a running sign. New prices, a swapped item, a new promotion photo, or a copy of a board for a second location, in one request.
- Check before it plays. The assistant measures text in the real fonts, reports anything cut off, hard to read, misaligned or overlapping, and shows you a preview of what the screen will show.
- Add your own files. Pictures, videos, PDFs, slides and music.
The assistant gives you a link to an upload page where you choose the file, or
sends a small file, such as a logo, itself. An assistant that runs code in a sandbox
with limited network access can upload larger files it has made only once
quickesign.netis on its list of allowed domains; see your assistant's settings. - Run your screens. See which are online, choose what each one plays and in what order, schedule switches (lunch specials from 11 to 2), link a new TV with the code it shows, and push changes to the screens at once.
- Keep things tidy. Put layouts and media into folders.
What it cannot do
It cannot delete layouts or remove files from your media library; do that on the Quickesign website. It can show who is signed in, the plan and the screen count, but it cannot change your account or billing settings. When you sign in as a sub-user, it can do only what that sub-user is allowed to do.
What you need
- A Quickesign Standard, Pro or Enterprise plan. Light plans cannot connect.
- An AI assistant that supports MCP connectors, such as Claude or ChatGPT, on a plan that allows them.
Connect it
- In your assistant's settings, find its connectors (some call them apps) and add
Quickesign from its directory. Where it is not listed, add a custom
connector with this address:
https://quickesign.net/mcp - A Quickesign sign-in page opens in your browser. Sign in with your Quickesign username and password. Your password goes only to Quickesign; the assistant never sees it.
- Ask for something, such as "List my Quickesign layouts" or one of the prompts below.
Try these
Pick one from the connector's prompts in your assistant, or copy it here and change the details to suit your business.
Coffee shop menu board
Make a menu board for my coffee shop's TV behind the counter. People read it from the line, about 10 feet back. Three sections: espresso drinks (latte, cappuccino, flat white, americano, mocha), tea, and pastries, with 12 oz and 16 oz prices for the drinks and "oat milk +$0.75". Warm and modern: a dark background, cream text and one copper accent. Leave a spot for my logo and show the time. Show me a preview, then ask me which screen to put it on.
Vertical salon price list
We just hung a TV sideways in our salon window. Build a vertical price list people can read from the sidewalk: haircuts (women's, men's, kids'), colour (single process, highlights, balayage), and blowouts, each with a starting price. Add our hours, Tue to Sat 9 to 7, and a spot for our Instagram handle. Soft and clean, blush and charcoal. Check that nothing is cut off or hard to read, and show me a preview.
Lunch specials for two locations
Make a lunch specials board for my sandwich shop: four specials with a short description and a price each, plus "Served 11 to 2" across the bottom. Bright and friendly, white background with green and orange. Then make a copy for our downtown location with every price $1 higher, and show me both.
Dental waiting room screen
Make a waiting room screen for our dental office, in both horizontal and vertical so it fits either TV. A welcome line with a spot for our name, a few oral care tips that rotate, the local weather and a clock. Calm blues and white, nothing busy. Show me both, then ask me which screen each one goes on.
Getting good results
- Name the kind of business, such as "coffee shop", not just "restaurant".
- Say where the screen hangs and how far away people stand.
- Give the real content: items, prices and hours.
- Name a style: two or three colours and a mood.
- Say what must be on it: a spot for your logo, a clock, the weather.
- Say what happens after: show a preview, put it on a screen, push it now.
Your data
- Signing in gives the assistant a token for your account, held by Quickesign. Each token lasts an hour and is renewed for up to 30 days, after which you sign in again. Changing the account's password ends the connection. A connection made with a sub-user's sign-in lasts until its 30 days run out.
- Layouts, files, screens and schedules that the assistant creates or changes are stored in your Quickesign account, as if you had made them on the website.
- Quickesign logs the name of each action the assistant takes, with your account number, to keep the service running well. It does not log what you asked or the content the assistant sent.
- See the Quickesign privacy policy.
Disconnect
Remove Quickesign from the connectors in your assistant's settings. Nothing in your Quickesign account changes when you disconnect. Disconnecting does not end the token Quickesign holds: it runs out on its own, or changing the account's password ends it at once.
If something goes wrong
- "Requires a Standard plan or above": the account is on the Light plan. Upgrading at quickesign.net enables the connector.
- Screens still show the old version: screens pick up changes at their next check-in, up to an hour later. Ask the assistant to refresh the screens to push them now.
- The assistant says the tool list is out of date: the connector has been updated. Refresh it, or disconnect and connect it again, in your assistant's settings.
- Sign-in keeps coming back: your sign-in expired or your password changed. Sign in again.
