How to Set Up Digital Signage on Amazon Fire TV

Turn your Amazon Fire TV into a digital sign with Quickesign. Display menus, announcements, promotions, and more, then manage your content from your computer or phone.

Quickesign works on all Amazon Fire TV devices, including devices running the new Vega OS. Whether you use a Fire TV Stick, Fire TV Cube, or a television with Fire TV built in, you can use Quickesign to display your content.

Before you begin

Have your Fire TV device connected to the internet and signed in to your Amazon account. You will also need a Quickesign account and a computer or phone to link your screen and manage its content. If you are using an external Fire TV player, connect it to your TV and select the correct HDMI input.

1. Update your Fire TV

Install any available system updates before setting up Quickesign. On many Fire TV devices, go to Settings > My Fire TV > About > Check for Updates. Menu names may differ by model and operating system.

A new device may need several updates and restarts. After each restart, check again until no further updates are available.

2. Install and open Quickesign

Use Fire TV Search to find Quickesign, select the app, and choose the download or install option. Once installation is complete, open Quickesign.

3. Link your screen to your account

  1. Keep Quickesign open on your TV and note the linking code displayed on the screen.
  2. On your computer or phone, sign in to Quickesign.
  3. Open the link-device screen and enter the code shown on your TV to connect the device to your account.

4. Choose what your screen displays

Create a layout or choose one you already have. Then open Screens, find your Fire TV screen, and select Edit to add the layout to its playlist. A playlist with one layout repeats that layout continuously.

See Adding Layouts to Your Screen's Playlist for more details.

5. Configure playback options

While Quickesign is open, press the Menu button on your Fire TV remote to view the app's options. Depending on your device and operating system, available settings may include:

  • Launch on startup: Open Quickesign when the device starts.
  • Keep on top: Automatically reopen Quickesign if the app exits.
  • Screen orientation: Choose the orientation for a horizontal or vertical display.
  • Daily restart: Schedule a restart at a convenient time.

Use the options shown in your app, then check that your content displays correctly on the TV.

Need help?

If your content is not appearing, confirm that Quickesign is open, the Fire TV is connected to the internet, and a layout is assigned to the correct screen's playlist. If needed, restart the device and reopen Quickesign.

For assistance, email mike@quickesign.com with your Fire TV model and a description or photo of what you see.

Also available: Amazon Signage Stick

Quickesign also works with the Amazon Signage Stick, a dedicated digital signage player with automatic app launch and kiosk mode. It is another option when choosing hardware for an unattended display.
